This little guy is seven months old. We did a super quick session last weekend, about 15 minutes of shooting. He was just the sweetest, happiest little guy. I really love this age. He can crawl and pull himself up to stand, but he can’t walk (or run!) away from me yet. He was so happy and smiley and CUTE! If I could choose only one age to photograph, this would be it!

Isn’t he a sweetie?

And last but not least, my absolute favorite image from his session. I’m a little obsessed with hazy sunlight like this, and his grin just melts my heart!

Recently I met a fellow photographer, and we had a blast on a photo shoot with her daughter. This little girl was so much fun and so well-behaved. It was hot and sticky in that field, but she was a trooper! And her mom bought me a root beer float after the shoot. What a great night!

The Last Days

June 24, 2010

These are the last days of Noah being an only child. The time right before our second baby is born. I’ve heard it referred to as a love affair like no other. Everything is in slow-motion. I can’t wait to meet our newborn, and I know he will teach us and give us so much. But I can’t help feeling like we are losing just a little bit, too. We’re losing our little three-person family. We’re going to be four now. Noah is going to be a big brother.

These last days are for laughter, life and love. For Noah…

I can’t believe how full my life is. Full of love and light and laughter. We are so incredibly blessed. I am grateful for every ray of sunshine, every giggle, every tickle and hug, every moment with my boys. I can’t wait for Noah’s little brother to join us out here in the light!

I love this clover field we found a couple days ago. It is so beautiful back there.

I love how expressive you are. I love watching you raise your eyebrows and curl up your lip. I love your chubby cheeks and your dark, curved eyelashes. I love your button nose and your cute pokey ears. I love your little teeth and your big bright eyes.

In short, I love your face.

I love how children can look at you and smile, and everything seems right in the world. I always want to remember this sweet little twinkle in her eye. It’s times like this that I feel so blessed to be a photographer.

Noah is 100% boy! Last summer he ran headlong into the lake without a second thought, then plopped himself down chest deep in the water and picked up handfuls of wet sand. He is always finding sticks and using them to chop at the grass or dig in the dirt. We have to be quick to distract him from mud puddles. While I was taking these photos, he wanted to walk off into the trees all by himself. He loves being outside and discovering new things.

My not-so-little-anymore explorer…

This little guy is a happy baby. I love photographing him, even though I have to chase him all over the place since he learned to walk – and run! I adore his big bright eyes and cute little smiles.

Springish

March 11, 2010

It has been a lot warmer this week, so we’ve been going outside as much as possible. Noah loves to find sticks and dig in the dirt in the backyard. I love sitting in the rocking chair on our front porch and soaking up the sun. Earlier in the week, we took a walk a few blocks to the library and checked out a handful of books. We are all enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. I am so thankful for warm and sunny days!

In case you are wondering, Noah does pretty much wear this sweater every time we go out. He has outgrown his jacket!

Always with the moody faces…

Haha, the wind gave him crazy hair! I love it.

Outside

March 6, 2010

Yesterday was such a gorgeous, sunny day that I thought it would be a good idea to go outside and get some fresh air. Little did I know that it was only 40 degrees, and that is COLD! We only stayed outside for 8 minutes or so before we came back into the house with red runny noses. Noah loves going outside, so I can’t wait for it to warm up so we can spend some time out there. I want to go to the park and have a picnic lunch!

Hello, dead tomato plants. How I miss your sweet little cherry tomatoes…
