Nate and I have been looking for a new place to live for a couple months since Noah will eventually need somewhere to sleep besides the bathtub. (For those of you who don’t know, I’m pregnant and due in four weeks). So last week we went to visit a house for rent near the hospital where I work and where I’m giving birth (how convenient!), and I fell in love with it. I honestly don’t know if I’m building it up too much in my head and will be disappointed by something when we move in or not. But for now, I’ll keep my delusion that it’s the perfect place for us to live!
The house is much, much larger than our [tiny] apartment. That’s not saying much. We currently rent a 2-bedroom that is very nice and clean, but also very small. The 2nd bedroom has been taken over by our many computers and books! In fact, I believe we have a lot of things to go through, things we could get rid of. But I made the choice to marry a pack-rat, so I may still have all this stuff when I’m 95. The only option is that we have to get a bigger place!
Back to the house… it is 3 bedrooms (yay, Noah gets a room!), 1-1/2 baths (the computer room may have a sink and toilet in it, but that’s okay, right? hehe). There’s so much space! Our problem at the apartment is too much stuff and not enough space; at the new house it will be too much space and not enough stuff… but I’m sure we’ll find a remedy for that
The house also has a nice shady backyard, tons of windows (natural light!), hardwood floors, and if you saw the title on this post, you are probably wondering about the doors. The front of the house has three doors. One goes into the super long dining room, one goes to the living room, and one is [strangely?] in the front bedroom. The back of the house has two doors, one coming off the kitchen and one off the end of the hallway. I’m not even sure if I counted them all, but five doors is plenty! The landlord said that her mother used to refer to it as “The House of Many Doors.”
So I really want this house. She called today to tell us they are replacing all the windows next week, but she would love to have us come and go through the lease on July 5th. I really can’t wait to go see the house again.
If it all works out, I will be posting many pictures of our new place in a couple weeks!
