Happy Halloween

October 31, 2008

My mom bought this Halloween outfit for Noah. I thought it would look good on a black background, so this was my first time using a “backdrop” (it’s one of my black skirts thrown over a couple pillows on our bed – hehe). I think the picture turned out Oh-So-Cute!

It’s 3 A.M.

October 30, 2008

So it’s the middle of the night, and I’m at work reading old posts from my Google Reader subs, and I find this hilarious cartoon which reminds me of a dream I had last night. In the dream I’m staring at a pregnancy test with two lines, and I think, “What the heck, my baby is only 3 months old, and I’m already pregnant again?” And then I wake up in a cold sweat.

But at least the cartoon made me laugh.

Iron’s Fruit Farm

October 27, 2008

We went to Iron’s Fruit Farm yesterday with Nate’s side of the family. We had such a good time there last year that we decided to go again. I think we will make it a family tradition. Iron’s Fruit Farm is a magical place with a hayride, a pumpkin patch, pony rides, farm animals, and the best doughnuts and fresh cider in Ohio!

Nate checking out a pumpkin. Could this be the one?

Halloween

October 20, 2008

Shane’s kids came for a visit and they got to go trick-or-treating while they were here. Click each picture for a larger view.

Isaac, Isabella and Lily in their costumes.

Isabella wanted to be Captain Hook.

Lily was a princess with colorful wings.

Isaac as Bumblebee from Transformers. I love the look on his face. Such attitude.

Cute kid.

Elliot in his skeleton shirt. Looks like he found a festive sock!

The next day, my mom bought them all funny suckers.

Notice Isaac is still wearing his Bumblebee costume. I wonder how long it will take them to get him out of that…

New Bed

October 20, 2008

Noah got a new bed last week, and he loves it. He has been sleeping for longer stretches at night. The first night he slept in his new crib, he slept through the night! 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep for Noah and daddy (I was at work).

Noah’s crib sits in the corner in our bedroom. We have plenty of room for it!

Noah fast asleep in his new bed!

My New Toy

October 17, 2008

It came! When I went into the computer room on Wednesday, the teeniest little laptop was sitting on my desk with a white bow and a card reading “Happy Anniversary.” Nate bought me the Asus Eee PC 1000h, along with upgraded RAM (2G!) and a wireless bluetooth mouse. It is so frickin small, it looks like a laptop for Noah. But I just love it. So much faster than the old rickety desktop I was using, and soooo much cuter. Plus it can fit in the diaper bag with all the other supplies we have to lug around.

Never thought I’d be excited about a computer fitting in a diaper bag. Ha!

Noah’s Baptism

October 13, 2008

Noah received his actual baptism on August 19th at the hospital since we didn’t know when he would be well enough to go to church. We were finally able to do the ceremony at the church on Saturday, October 11th. We put him in the tiny christening gown, an antique that has godparents found for him, and our priest said the traditional prayers and blessings for his baptism. If we had waited another week, he would have grown out of his gown (we couldn’t close the top button on the back of the neck!).

Below are a few pictures of Noah and his godparents during the ceremony.

Wishlist

October 13, 2008

I wrote this wishlist a while back, and I gotta scratch some things off now!

Canon EOS Rebel XSi

50mm f/1.8 EF lens

Adobe Photoshop CS3

My computer to be fixed and/or a new computer

My husband is the best. I just found out he bought me a new laptop… which I am supposed to share with him! But it has to be faster than the computer I’m using now. I can’t wait for it to get here!

Two Months

October 9, 2008

Mini update: At Noah’s two month checkup, he weighed 13lbs 11oz and was 24-3/4 inches long. He also got his first set of vaccines, and he tolerated it really nicely (he only cried for five seconds!). He is still breastfeeding exclusively, and we got all our milk supply problems worked out. He stays home with his daddy at night while I go to work 3rd shift, and they both seem to be doing well with it, although daddy is pretty tired lately!

I went crazy today snapping Noah’s picture, but he’s starting to smile, and I don’t have enough pictures of it. He smiles all the time, especially when we smile at him. He is starting to mimic the noises we make, and I think his first word is “hi!” He almost squeals it back when we say hi to him.

How cute is this? I love his big, sparkly eyes!

This next one is my favorite, but I don’t know if I like it more in color or black and white.

He’s growing up too fast!
